Broughton Choral Society is looking to appoint a Tenor Choral Scholar from May up to Christmas 2026.
The position is suitable for trained singers, or those in training, looking to continue their choral work. It offers the opportunity to work with this well-established amateur choir, and learn from our conductor Callum Hüseyin. Our concerts are performed with an orchestra.
Essential duties
- Leading the tenor section at Choir rehearsals
(Tuesdays 7.30-9.30pm May 5th – Jun 13th and Sept 1st – Dec 5th 2026 at Broughton Village Hall, Scottish Borders, ML12 6HQ). - Singing in concerts on 13th Jun and 5th Dec 2026 with the choir, opportunities for solo singing available in discussion with the musical director.
Additional duties
- Aiding current tenors with learning pieces and in singing technique.
- Assisting the music director in rehearsal as appropriate.
- Some conducting opportunities might be available at the discretion of the musical director.
Remuneration £50 per 2 hour session. Own transport is preferable as Broughton Village Hall is not easily reachable by public transport. A travel stipend will be offered.
